Considered heating it with MAPP gas to remove it but in the end I decided to cut it off. What I think I know for sure is it's on a L1A1 lower with an inch bolt and bolt carrier and the upper is a SAC import from the 90's with the import mark in the magwell. Anyhow, 22lr ammo was about $0.60 a box, 22WRF ammo was about $2.25 a box (And still available most places then) and 22WMRF was around $3.50 or more. If you are shooting commercial ammo you want your rifle headspacecd to .308. Commercial ammo has thinner cases and you could get head separations if shot in a 7.62 headspaced rifle. if you are shooting either does not matter and if only shooting 7.62 then use the 7.62 gauge. .308 field is a go gauge for 7.62.

Just picked up an FAL with two DSA polymer mags and one Moses mag. Had to file the back of one of the DSA's and the Moses. I'm finding that the top round of both of these mags are getting dented and gouged just from racking a round into the chamber.
